Distance learning is comprised of two components, GED Connection 2002 and Workplace Essential Skills (WES).
GED Connection 2002 offers an innovative alternative for students who cannot attend traditional adult classrooms. The curriculum is continuous and allows the student to learn while at home with a computer or VCR as well on the internet.
The program is diverse. It utilizes internet learning, videos, public television and workbooks. This multi-media program will help the learners understand necessary concepts in order to successfully pass the GED exam.
GED connection Components Include:
39 half-hour videos
- core concepts with real life applications
- documentary-style approach
- interviews with learner, teachers, poets, scientists and others
- visual demonstrations and field trips
- motivation and instruction
Three student workbooks
- 3 full-color workbooks - 5 subject areas
- GED practice charts, maps and graphs
- GED practice grids and calculator
Free Internet activities and quizzes, GED sample tests, and online modules.
Workforce Essential Skills
The purpose of the WES Program utilizes a series of books, video clips, and computer lessons designed to help the adult learner become better prepared for the changing demands of the workforce.
