GOAL:

To provide academic remediation for adult customers, enabling the customer to satisfy their GED requirements. This increases the employment opportunities available to the customer.

PARTICIPANTS:

Participants may be:

  • Any customer above 18 years of age that has not satisfied their high school requirements and did not receive their high school diploma.
  • All customers mpst meet WIA financial guidelines and also possess barriers which make them at risk for employment.

SERVICES:

  • Educational Testing
  • Educational Counseling
  • Vocational Counseling
  • Job Development
  • Familiarize customer with Career Link
  • Referral to appropriate human services agencies, when needed

ACCOMPLISHMENTS (1984-2004):

  • Serviced over 7,000 participants
  • GED passing rate of 82%, compared to the national average of 67%
  • Over half of all graduates continued on to further education and training
  • 70% of participants obtained employmentt
