GOAL:

To provide individualized instruction that will lead to expanded knowledge of the skills needed in the workplace. This knowledge will enable workers to function effectively and safely in the workplace.

PARTICIPANTS:

Participants may be any resident of Luzerne County, 18 years of age or older, in need of developing their workplace foundation skills.

These skills could include any of the following:

• Basic Literacy Skills (Reading, Writing, and Math).
• Employability Skills (The personal and interpersonal skills needed to succeed within the workplace.
• Organizational Knowledge.

SERVICES:

• Remediation, when needed
• Vocational Counseling
• Job Search Activities
• Educational Testing
• Familiarize customer with the CareerLink

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

• Passing rate of 81%, compared to the national average of 67%
• Over 71% of the customers enrolled continued on to further career training and/or gainful employment.
