Child Accounting

The purpose of Child Accounting and Student Tracking is to maintain attendance, membership, and programmatic data for students who receive Special Education services or are enrolled in our Alternative Education or Service Learning Programs. The IEPWriter System is utilized to track data year round on children from ages 3 years through 21 years.

The Division of Subsidy Data and Administration, PA Department of Education, collects attendance and membership data from Pennsylvania’s 501 school districts, intermediate units, and other educational entities via PIMS by August 1st of each school year. The membership data is used in the calculation of each school district’s Basic Education Funding, Special Education Subsidy, Secondary Vocational Education Subsidy, and Tuition for Orphan’s Subsidy allocation. Membership data is also used in the calculation of each school district’s tuition rate.
